Last week was a busy week in the cluster with both Upperby and Belle Vue having their Health and Fitness weeks. Upperby Year 6 pupils had a taste of extreme sports on Monday afternoon as they took part in street surfing sessions led by the RRCA PE Department. Pupils supported each other really well as they learned the new skills. Before long they were balancing really well and picking up some speed around the Hall. Jade Johnston and Kimberley Hall picked it up really quickly and showed some great skills.

On Tuesday morning, Richard Rose Central Academy PE department delivered a Golf Extreme taster session for Belle Vue Year 6 pupils. Pupils were learning to hit off the tee and chip onto the green for target practice whilst avoiding the bunkers and water hazards. Everyone did really well in the activities with Holly Aitchison and Lucy Wilson showing some great skill and control.

Year 5 pupils from Belle Vue visited Richard Rose Central Academy on Wednesday for taster sessions in Boxercise, Street Surfing and Golf Extreme. All of the pupils had a wonderful afternoon trying out some new sports. Everyone left exhausted after showing such great effort in all of the activities and with happy smiling faces. A big thank you to all of the pupils, as they were a pleasure to work with as usual.

RRCA Sports Leaders were in action on Thursday as they helped lead activities for Upperby's sports day. Pupils took part in fun Multi Skills activities and worked as a team to win points in events such as sack race relay and target throw. Well done to everyone involved for a wonderful afternoon.

Pupils from Inglewood Juniors and Brook Street took part in a Young Leaders Award Course at the Lismore Place Sports Complex on Thursday. Pupils learned lots of new games and PE activities that they could use with younger pupils. They designed posters of an ideal Sports Leader and had the opportunity to work together to plan and lead activities for other pupils. A big thank you to all of the pupils for working so hard and hopefully they will take their Sports Leadership skills back to School and lead activities for their classmates.
